The Hanged Man in the Tarot is a man hanging upside down by his feet. This symbol signifies delays in emotional and mental uncertainty as to our desire to manifest whatever is most important to us. I have identified with the Fool of the Tarot, and the Fool survived his many leaps of faith, but the Hanged Man is more patient when he knows the value of his patience for what he is waiting for. He hangs on a rope tied to his ankle, but appears disoriented but not in pain. We are all the Hanged Man, waiting for what we most desire.
