As a Baby Boomer I see the past differently. The Woodstock Generation who witnessed the first resignation of a sitting president for election fraud and other crimes. We were the generation that made Rock and Roll a musical transformation inspiring the world with remarkable songs that are still inspiring people today as part of our DNA. As millions of us age into retirement and beyond I don’t think the most of us expected another criminal president and wide spread corruption within the government . We were the Anti War generation one of the last to be drafted for an insane war in Vietnam where thousands of young men and women died as we protested everywhere we could especially in Universities.
Achieving adulthood at this time was impressive since all 18 year olds were subject to the Military Draft. I escaped by having the luck of my birthdate being 350 in the Draft Lottery. Looking back now at the remarkable events of the sixties and seventies that changed the world and experiencing the inventions of remarkable technologies that have become a major part of our lives makes me amazed and proud of my generation’s acomplishments. As millions of us live out the remainder of our lives as Senior Citizens and watch so many of our musical and movie icons passing away we must embrace the best of all we lived through, like gaining the vote at 18 and allowed to drink alcohol legally. We changed the world as a generation free of traditional restraints and are still making great strides as an aging generation.
