Once upon a time I was a different man. Once upon a time I hitch hiked 600 miles from Maine to Connecticut as a 19 year old to meet my girlfriend who became my first wife, got a job, worked hard bought a condo, then my first house. I was married very young, but as I grew in age and experience and wealth I built a fine new home, drove a new BMW and had my own successful business as a real estate and mortgage broker through the 1980s. Then the great recession of the 1990s hit all the Savings and Loans banks failed, and the Real Estate industry went to hell with mortgage rates at 10 to 15% variable rates. I struggled for several years until it became impossible to sell a home even with over 100 listings on my books. No one was barely buying. All Commercial properties were going into receivership into the Federal recovery program of the RTC. All of my once wealthy investors were going broke as the value of their properties tanked loosing hundreds of thousands of dollars on once prime commercial and investment properties. I Am no longer in the business and have had a wild ride ever since. The last 30 years have been a rollercoaster ride but what a ride it has been. I have been married and divorced twice, had several blazing romances, made and lost a lot of money, created several businesses, survived an unknown illness with only 24 hours to live without emergency surgery. That was over 15 years ago and now I’m happy and healthy taking mile long walks daily and working out at the YMCA.
I Am not sure what inspired this message tonight but as I awoke from a dream I realized how unlucky I have been and how lucky I Am. I can only contribute my status today as a humble writer and website owner and 25 years as a broadcaster on radio, television and internet, with a world wide audience of thousands of readers, to having faith in God and myself to overcome the worst of the worst to the best of the best. I say to all my readers that if I can overcome business, health and relationship disasters and come back healthy and strong, and found and lived with my Soul Mate in romantic bliss for 21 years, before she suddenly and unexpectedly passed away, then anyone can make it with faith in God and themselves. I Am trying to present the pathway I have taken to be here after 3:00 AM presenting my past to the public so they too can have faith in God for all their blessings of the past, present and future. Life is a rugged road we must travel until we finally find our eternal rest.
