Today was a bitter cold day with wind at 40 miles per hour and nearly sub zero temperatures. The landscape was bitterly frozen as I took my afternoon walk. A friend of mine enjoys .walks the colder the better he has climbed a local mountain 900 times and is setting a world record. He especially likes bitter cold weather. It is exilarating for the athletic mind set but as a simple man on a excercise routine warmer days are more friendly. Thoughts on a day like today ramble from warm to cold but at the end of the walk I Am ready for home a warm cat welcome and a sense of gladness that I have a warm home. Thoughts of a women I love seem to appear as I relax and consider the afternoon. Her face appears to me in an imaginary vision as I settle into an afternoon funk.
I hope it warms up but the North West Corner of Connecticut is expecting up to 8 inches of snow on Saturday and Sunday. Sounds like fun for snow lovers but it is hell on the roads and makes life miserable to go anywhere. Be well my friends and be thankful if you are enjoying reasonable temperatures and moderate weather. Know that somewhere the weather is bitter cold and be thankful you are happy and warm.
